Ted Siff is a graduate of Harvard College and has more than 20 years of magazine, book, and newsletter publishing experience. He is responsible for the overall operations of Texas School Business magazine and its parent company, Park Place Publications, L.P.

Jim Walsh, Editor in Chief

Jim Walsh is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and one of the founders of Walsh, Anderson, Brown, Gallegos & Green, P.C. He is the author of the Common Sense Guide to Special Education Law, co-author with Frank Kemerer and Laurie Maniotis of The Educator's Guide to Texas School Law and numerous other books on school law. He is also the managing editor of the Texas School Administrators' Legal Digest.

Katie Ford, Editor

Katie Ford has been a writer and editor since 1993, working on staff and as a freelancer for magazines and newspapers. In the spring of 2005, she founded Katie Ford Editorial LLC in Austin, which provides publication management, writing and editing services. She joined Texas School Business as the managing editor in November 2005 and was promoted to editor in April 2008. Prior to launching her company, Katie Ford was the Special Reports Editor for the Austin Business Journal.

Jim Johnson, Advertising Sales Manager

Jim Johnson joined Texas School Business in June, 2006 after a 36 year career at Region XIII Education Service Center, Austin, where he served as Director for Fiscal Affairs & Data Services. He is a Registered Texas School Business Administrator, a life member of TASBO, and recipient of TASBO’s Commitment to Excellence award. Jim holds an accounting degree from the University of Texas.

Debbie Stover, Business Manager

Debbie Stover has been with us since May 2006. Debbie came to us from the Texas Educational Support Staff Association where she was Executive Administrative Assistant for 14 years. Her responsibilities here include accounts receivable, billing,  subscriptions,  and other office management responsibilities. She also manages subscriptions and billing for our sister publication, Legal Digest.

Stephen Markel, Director of Marketing & Customer Relations

Stephen Markel attended Texas Tech University and the University of Hawai'i. He has 13 years of management experience in the e-commerce and customer service industries, working for Trilogy Software, GMAC and the University of Hawai'i. He also serves as marketing director for our sister publication, Legal Digest.

Douglas S. Bigham, Digital Media Manager

Douglas S. Bigham received his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008. He has since been working as project manager, promoter, and designer for several websites and digital education initiatives, including the Texas English Project and the online magazine, Popular Linguistics. Douglas also manages and maintains all digital content for our sister publication, Legal Digest.
