Keller ISD schools are golden, TEA says

Schools in Keller ISD picked up a total of 117 Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency for the 2008-2009 school year.

Most of the awards were for commended performances on various sections of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. To receive a Gold Performance award for commended levels, at least 25 percent of a school's students taking the TAKS must score at or above the commended standard in that subject.

Twenty-seven schools received Gold Performance for commended reading scores, 21 for math, 19 for writing, eight for social studies and six for science. Other acknowledgments include attendance rates, college-readiness, SAT or ACT scores and advanced placement.
