Sixteen new schools or districts were added to the Texas Education Agency's Best Practices Clearinghouse, a Web page that features examples of consistently high academic achievement, improvement in student performance, and/or outstanding campus and district operations, the Texas Education Agency announced.
Of these new additions, six are U.S. Blue Ribbon Schools and one is the 2008 winner of the Broad Prize for Urban Education. The 16 new schools or districts highlighted as examples of best practices are:

Best practices are collected from public schools, districts and charter schools across
Texas in the areas of instruction, dropout prevention and recovery, college and career readiness, English language learners and business/management.
The best practice designation is determined by a research-based framework in which campuses and districts have: identified an area for improvement; researched and implemented an intervention; and analyzed pre-post and trend data to evaluate and document the intervention's effectiveness.
