Texas Title I schools receive distinguished honors

Beaver Technology Center in Garland ISD and Mims Elementary School in Mission ISD were recognized by the National Association of State Title I Directors (NASTID) as National Title I Distinguished Schools. The campuses were the only two Texas schools to be recognized in the national program.

Schools were selected for exceptional student performance for two or more consecutive years in closing the achievement gap between student groups. Title I is the largest federal-aid program in K-12 education with more than $14 billion awarded annually through formula and discretionary grants.
