October 2009

Dear John Young:

I am the head football coach at Tyler Lee High School in Tyler. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated your column on “voucher-vouchers” (“Young’s Inbox,” July/August 2009).

It was such a pleasure for me to read something that is absolutely the truth. I was actually surprised to read an article that was supportive of public schools. I appreciate what you do and the opinion you expressed. At the very least, I know there is someone out there who is telling the truth about vouchers.

Again, thanks and keep up the good work.

Dear Mark Kramer:

Great job on Pasadena ISD’s Great Stories Club! (See “Honor Roll” at www.texasschoolbusiness.com.) What an exciting way to keep students engaged in learning. I think that Texas School Business’ new Web-exclusive editorial section is an effective way to get more positive coverage for Texas public education. I expect it to be a big success.

Dear Jeff Carmack:
Thank you for doing such a good job with the article (“In the Spotlight,” July/August 2009). It was a pleasure to tell my story to you. Again, thank you and best of luck in all you do.
